Designating specific warehouses for grain will make operations more efficient, says Prumo, the port’s parent company
The Port of Açu, in the north of Rio de Janeiro, yesterday inaugurated two warehouses dedicated to storing grains, such as soybeans and corn, to meet agribusiness demand. The area will be owned by the Minas Port group, which invested R$104 million in the space with the capacity to store 70,000 tons of grain. The contract between the Port of Açu and Minas Port is for 20 years.
Until then, the Port of Açu handled grain cargo through Prumo subsidiaries installed in the port.
